RY8 week old male Boxer pup

My husband and I are getting our new puppy next week and we want to feed raw.  I am wondering what is the best way to start and what to start with? Chicken or something else?  Also I am wondering how much veggies?  Should I start with veggies and meat both or one at a time?

Can someone give me an idea of how to start and what to start with?  I don't want to hurt him in anyway.

Thanks in advance

Re: RY8 week old male Boxer pup

Congratulations on getting your new addition soon Pam, and also for wanting to learn how to feed your new baby raw!  Back in 1999, before I took the plunge to give my Boxers their first raw chicken leg, it had taken me 3 solid months of educating myself before I was ready to begin feeding raw. It is important that we each know WHY we are feeding WHAT we are feeding...thus, the "Top 50 Most Frequently Asked Questions Newcomers to BARF Ask" was born.  Please start here BEFORE you feed you first RMB (raw meaty bone), as this page will give you ALL the basics and will answer your original questions as well:
http://www.njboxers.com/top-50-barf-faqs-for-beginners.html

During my learning process, I purchased both of Dr. Billinghurst's books, "How to Grow Your Pup with Bones" and "Give Your Dog a Bone", and you can find them here:

Since you'll be getting your new pup next week, and may not be completely ready to begin feeding raw, I highly recommend Life's Abundance, which is the highest quality (in our opinion) holistic pet food on the market today. You will find links for this product line on the FAQ page mentioned above. This is the perfect food most new to raw feeding will feed while they learn how to properly feed a raw diet to their dogs.

Please don't hesitate to ask your questions, if you cannot find the answers on the FAQ page or in the books recommended!  Congrats again...he's a very fortunate little young man!  ;)
