I like to make large batches and freeze dry them.  My younger dog does not like raw unless it is freeze dried first.  Is it good to slightly bake chicken before grinding it up or to cook it a little after it is ground then freeze dry it?  Does anyone have any good receipe for freeze drying?

Re: freeze drying

Any form of cooking is no longer considered raw, and this includes defrosting meat/bones in a microwave.

Now dehydrated meat without bone, veggies and fruit are great treats.

Personally, I have no experience with freeze drying, so hopefully someone else can chime in here.

As long as your younger dog is healthy and does not have any health issues, I would make the effort to get him/her to eat raw, even if it takes a day or two of nothing but raw.  A healthy dog will not purposely starve himself/herself, and will eat when he/she are hungry.

I hope this helps!
